Base Specification
Mini – Con (Simplex) Domestic Water
Furnish and install a domestic water pressure booster, NAMCO Model MCPV- . The system shall have a UL 9F35 Listing. The system shall be capable of delivering flow from 0 to GPM at a constant discharge pressure of PSIG when supplied with a minimum suction pressure of PSIG. The incoming power supply to the unit shall be Volts, Hz, Phase. Only two piping connections and one power supply connection shall be required to install the unit.
The unit shall be of one pump simplex or 2 pump duplex construction completely factory assembled on a welded fabricated steel frame.
Pump(s) installed in this package is to be of end suction close coupled centrifugal design, Taco Model CE- . Each pump shall be selected to provide the necessary design flow and head as specified in the pumping schedule. Selection of each pump shall be made to include all internal losses which may result within the booster package. The impeller shall be bronze, automatically balanced and dynamically balanced.
A standard efficiency Hp, RPM, JM shaft, re-greasable motor shall be used on each pump. The shaft shall be covered with a removable bronze shaft sleeve.
OPTION
Each pump shall be protected from excessive thermal build-up by an adjustable, non-electric, high temperature purge valve. The purge valve shall continuously monitor the temperature of the water in each pump casing and purge to drain should excessive temperature rise occur. The contractor shall pipe purge valve to drain.
OPTION
A " Cla-Val hydraulically operated, diaphragm-actuated pressure reducing valve shall be installed integral to each pump station. The diaphragm assembly shall be the only moving part and shall form a sealed chamber in the upper portion of the valve. The pilot control shall be a direct-acting, adjustable, spring-loaded, normally open diaphragm valve, designed to permit flow when the controlled pressure is less than the spring setting. An in-line check valve shall be provided between each pump and pressure reducing valve to prevent flow reversal in an idle pump.
The pre-wired factory mounted control panel shall be of NEMA-1 construction and UL Listed. The control panel shall include:
Magnetic contractor with three leg overload protection.
Mounted on the control panel door shall be an H-O-A switch for each pump to enable hand, off, and automatic operation.
Indicating lights shall be provided for certification of power on and pump run.
The system shall automatically restart following a power interruption.
The unit shall be provided with an energy storage system consisting of a diaphragm type expansion tank and override pressure controls to allow system shutdown during periods of low water use. The 8 gallon diaphragm tank shall be designed, constructed and rated for a maximum working pressure of 160 PSI at 240° F.
The pumping system shall undergo a certified flow and pressure performance4 test prior to shipment to include operating the unit at the actual design conditions.
